Following the Town Council meeting on 29 July 2026, the Trustees wish to formally record their concern regarding the Council's consideration of the governance, future ownership and actions of the Trustees of Newby and Scalby Community Hall Trust.

The Board of Trustees of the Newby and Scalby Community Hall Trust has become aware that members of the public have been delivering correspondence by hand to the private home addresses of individual trustees. This is wholly inappropriate and is not an acceptable means of communicating with the charity. Trustees are volunteers who are entitled to the same rights to privacy and personal security as any other individual. Their home addresses are not public offices and should not
